TopGolf Premieres in Austin – VIP Style
One word to describe Monday, May 6? EPIC.
Let’s back up. The day began with our Associates filing in early to start preparing the facility for its big debut. Anticipation was high and energy was buzzing. Throughout the day, silverware was polished, mirrors were wiped down, flowers were placed on tables, and an ice luge was delivered (Yes, an ice luge. We are TopGolf, and we can do that!) In just a few hours, the staff was ready and eager to welcome our guests. And just in time to see the beloved UT Mascot Bevo arrive. My, he is one massive steer.

16 Hours to Help Moore, Oklahoma Tornado Victims
Yesterday evening I was driving home from work and received a call from TopGolf’s beloved Corporate Executive Chef Seve Delgado. Her niece’s best friend lost her home in the Moore, Okla. tornado, so her family and friends were packing a U-Haul full of donated items for the city’s victims. Seve asked me if TopGolf could help pull together extra donations to fill the truck before it left…the next morning.

Houston’s Rodeo After Party
Who says the Rodeo can’t last all year? Not TopGolf Houston! We had a blast this week at the Rodeo After Party, mechanical bull and all. Karbach came out to represent its Rodeo Clown Double IPA craft brew and to get some guests rockin’ the clown noses. Trust me, after a couple of those, not only will you be sporting the clown nose, but a bikini as well…and riding the mechanical bull. Yes, that did happen. And guys, before I crush your dreams, it was actually a man who did it – sorry!

American Idol Finalist Vincent Powell Fan Meet and Greet
TopGolf Houston hosted a really special guest this past week from the famous show American Idol — fan favorite and season 12 finalist Vincent Powell. First off, sweetest, funniest guy ever! Vincent gave a live performance for all the guests at TopGolf, in addition to posing for photos and signing autographs for his fans. It was also great to see some of the guests’ faces when they spotted Vincent. Many of them were shocked to discover one of their favorite American Idol contestants in the building.

TopGolf does the Masters
What happens when you work in the golf industry and the Masters rolls around? A fantasy draft, that’s what! The Marketing Department filled the conference room at the Home Office in Dallas while the onsite teams called in for our first annual Masters Fantasy Draft. Each of the 17 participants took their turn to attempt our versions of name pronunciation and draft their 3-man team that we anxiously cheered on during the past few days.
Our daily scoring updates were followed by emails proclaiming “it’s a marathon not a sprint” as well as a little peer pressure and DQ-debate. In the end, we all had another reason to stay glued to the Golf Channel with the participants of our “Like A Boss” tournament who drafted their own players during the Saturday morning event at TopGolf!
What a great weekend for some amazing golf, and looking forward to the U.S. Open with our Birdies, Bogies, BOOM! tournament over Father’s Day weekend.
