The Grand Opening VIP Party is always the last hoorah of each new site opening. The Perfect 10 campaign for the 10th location in The Colony, TX has lived up to its name!
To quote CultureMap Dallas, “The Colony may have been the last place in Dallas-Fort Worth you’d expect to find a star-studded affair. But TopGolf brought its A-game.” (A-list Athletes Take a Swing at TopGolf The Colony Grand Opening)
So let me tell you how it all came together. If you haven’t seen the news reports or the stories online, the party was a “Who’s Who” of local Dallas sports and celebrities.
Reaching a milestone is always a good excuse to celebrate, but achieving two at the same time….well, we’re not one to brag…
With the 10th TopGolf site all but open and our 10 millionth guest expected at any moment, Sunday 17th November was the date selected to host our 10/10 celebrations. For us U.K. folk, there’s a sense of great pride seeing TopGolf reach new feats. I mean, it doesn’t seem that long ago we welcomed our first-ever guest to the first TopGolf location in Watford, England.
With that said, these parties were not just a celebration of what TopGolf has achieved, but a reflection of all the memories shared by Associates and guests alike. From great-tasting food and drink to wicked tunes and competitive fun, the night had it all! Let’s get it started in here…
When I learned we were going to host the first-ever TopGolf Taste & Tour media event, I didn’t know what to expect…but then I let my stomach take over and lead the way. For those of you who know me, you know this a common occurrence and that I’m never shy when it comes to food. You could almost say, as TopGolf Director of Food and Beverage Mark Boyton so tastefully puts it, “Eating is my passion.”
If your weekends are at all like mine, Sunday morning usually starts in a foggy haze. There are usually only 2 things I want to do, eat and figure out what the hell happened the night before.
English writer Guy Beringer is credited with inventing (can you really invent a meal?) brunch in part to help battle a nasty hangover. In his 1895 essay “Brunch: A Plea” he said among other things, “Brunch is cheerful, sociable and inciting. It is talk-compelling. It makes you satisfied with yourself and your fellow beings.”
Well, the stuff-your-face, two drinks in-hand, party till you drop day of gluttony has passed. TopGolf’s first ever Crawfish Boil turned out to be a huge success due to the hard work of our associates and the large appetites of our guests! The crawfish went fast, as eyes grew wide and guests piled their plates – Round 1. Round 2. Round 3…and so on until 400 pounds of those tasty little critters were no more. Their lovely aroma, however, lingered until the wee hours of the morning, a treat to some and to others, not so much.
